Ciderpress Cottage, Penallt Review

In early November we were fortunate enough to stay in a cottage in Pennalt near Monmouth. We decided on the area as it was handy for the Wales, Gloucester the beautiful Wye Valley, I wanted to visit Symonds Yat possibly the most famous beauty spot in the area.

What was perhaps the loveliest part of the holiday was the accomodation. We booked quite late and looking at the website for Ciderpress Cottage I hoped it would live up to the descriptions.

My mind was made up when I spotted the  waterfall advertised on the site, I love waterfalls have visited many and this one after delving on Google showed you could walk behind it and it was part of a series of four in a walk
.

We arrived at the cottage at dusk, a light was on to welcome us and as we stepped through the front door we were instantly impressed.

There was the promised wood burning stove filled with logs and ready to go, cosy couches there were fresh flowers in every room.

More flowers and a plate of Welsh Scones and a pot of honey made by Karen one of the owners.
There was a lovely welcome pack of goodies including eggs, milk, crusty loaf, butter, chocolates and wine. Diet straight out of the window hehe well we were on our hols!!
Also good was an ample supply of tea, coffee and hot chocolate all you could want on your first night.
We looked around and were so very impressed all of the cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard.  From the modern kitchen with all the appliances, to the luxurious bathroom with power shower and luxury toiletries.

We were without Paige and Conor and I was rather sad as they would have loved the twin bedroom which as  the cottage was originally a hayloft, the windows are quaintly situated very low down.

We had a fabulous stay at Ciderpress, were very warm and cosy and as just the two of us it made the perfect romantic hideaway, but would be fabulous for a family of four or two couples.

The Cottage is all ready for Christmas now and I would love to be back there. The area is beautiful, the accommodation is above expectation and the owners truly lovely.

I will leave you with a few of our highlights and sights from our holiday
