Spam, Spam Spam

Today I have had the record amount of spam on the blog to date. 294 comments in 20 hours since I last purged. While writing this post another 17 came through.

Not quite sure why this has started on blogger recently, I used to get a few a month.

I must admit some are quite amusing, some useful advice if I was particularly asking for it and some bizarre.

I have been getting quite an ego boost with some anonymous posters comments

You are so cool! I do not suppose I've read through a single thing like this before. So good to find someone with some genuine thoughts on this subject. Really.. thank you for starting this up. This site is something that's
needed on the internet, someone with a little originality!

I must say I could get used to the praise.

Todays distasteful one

Urine and faeces are the body's way of getting rid of infection....

I won't put you off your cuppa by typing the rest.

The cheekiest has to be

Are you having problems with spam, need a solution, join my site....

The site title is for dog shampoo!!!

So as much as I am entertained by some, I have to stop it, sadly I am stopping anonymous posts for now.

I really hate captcha, I know  people hate it as well, so I am not going to add yet.

I am sad as a few people comment anon and enter the giveaways that way, but I have not the hours to 'fritter' away (get it?) on spam!!!

LOGO What Am I? Review. Giveaway ends November 30th

Fancy winning and playing a brilliant game this Christmas, read on.

New LOGO What Am I?  (rrp £24.99, age 8+ - for 2 to 6 players) is a fast and furious multi-activity game, based on Drumond Park’s Number One best-selling LOGO picture board game, which the whole family can get stuck into.

I recently Reviewed LOGO and we really enjoyed the game, its a rare thing when I can get my teens to stay and play a game apart from at Christmas.

The idea is a fun one.

We set up the board, Ricky, Paige's boyfriend home from Uni perused the rules and then we started. What was fun about the game was the element of being able to catch up your opponents, the potential winner could in fact be the one who was trailing behind.
I believe this rule made it more fun, possibly why nobody gave up on the game which sometimes happens when the person at the back gives up in a sulk.

The game play is fast, fun and can be really sidesplitting, you have to describe, draw or just answer questions for everyday items, they may be a brand or just a word. The hilarity when my drawings defied all similarity to an item, made this very entertaining. A bit of family knowledge helps as Paige used known favourites to give clues.
This game will be great for larger groups at Christmas.

The Logo What Am I Board Game

Ugg Boots, Raybans, Rolex, iPod, Smarties, Toblerone, Raleigh Bicycle, Reebok and lots more Christmas present favourites make an appearance on the hundreds of cards which come with this clever and original game! It’s all the most fun imaginable - with some hilarious antics, especially watching Dad or Auntie struggling to articulate Speedos or Hunter Wellies!

For children on their own the game draws together many crucial aspects of communication and gamesmanship.  It is also perfect for the youngsters to play with their parents and older siblings or at multi-generational gatherings.  Absolutely everyone will be able to relate to the famous name products and brands - and join in the fun.

GUINNESS® GOES NUTS FOR PEANUTS & CASHEWS

CALLING ALL SNACKERS
Guinness lovers across the nation will soon be able to get their hands on a brand new snack sensation, Guinness®Gourmet Peanuts & Cashews.

Yesterday was a good day for nuts, as Guinness went nutty and launched a new snack Guinness Gourmet Peanuts & Cashews.

Now I could tell you a fib and say how fabulous they were, but I cannot do that!

I went to the cupboard on Sunday and they were missing. After a scout around, I found the empty packets in the bin.

I had a sniff and I could smell the distinct Guinness aroma and a beefy scent. But not a smidgen survived the husband's pilfering!!  Now it may be a grab bag, but Chris took it literally and grabbed them, so over to him for the confession and this is true!!

"They were just to good to resist, once I opened for a nibble. I just had to carry on, while you were talking to your friend, the tennis just got so gripping, I needed to chew on more than my knuckles. I had no beer in the house, these were a great substitute! Sorry I will buy you some more I promise"

"Did they taste of Guinness?" I enquired, " Oh yes, you would have loved them, they were really good, need a pint of the black stuff to help them along" said light fingered Larry.

Now he did look very sheepish and he is the nut fan of the house. But I am not letting him off  just yet, well maybe after I post this!
Breaking the boundaries of modern-day snacking, this tasty treat subtly combines the classic combination of steak together with the world’s most famous stout.

Perfect for nights in or a snack on the go, the 90g grab bag is big enough to share, or for the more experienced snacker to enjoy alone! Double roasted, they deliver an abundance of flavour with a unique twist.

This new snack is available in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide and is priced at £1.49. The gourmet treat is also available in Waitrose from the 9th July.

I received Guinness Gourmet Peanuts and Cashews for the purpose of this review.

Lemsip Survey - Women say “man up” to Man’s Flu

Lemsip survey and new interactive video puts to bed cliché once and for all
To mark the launch of the Lemsip “Man’s Flu Video” on Facebook a new survey reveals 42% of women didn’t believe their husbands or boyfriends were as ill as they claimed, and were instead looking for sympathy and attention, while 31% suspected their ‘crippling man’s flu’ might actually be just a cold.

When women complain of feeling under the weather, 1 in ten men felt that their better halves were just looking for attention, indicating that their own symptoms were far worse than anything experienced by their women and thus more worthy of some affection.

Shockingly, 1 third of these “gentlemen” expect their lady to carry on as normal, contrary to the treatment they expect in the same circumstances. 41% of men stated that their partner does not understand how ill they are and so need to lay the symptoms on more thickly.
By comparison, only 27% of women agreed that their partner understands how they feel when they are ill. Perhaps as a result, 36% of women said they carry on as normal and battle through - in stark contrast to the men, 40% of whom find time to lounge on the sofa, or watch TV or DVDs (34%), or spend the day in bed (31%) at the first sign of a sniffle.

To get involved and fuel the debate further take part in Lemsip’s “Men vs. Women Man’s Flu Challenge” and create your own “Man’s Flu Video” (www.facebook.com/Lemsip). The video, parodying the late
James Brown’s hit “Man’s World”, will pit men against women in the sympathy stakes, with each version being produced and directed towards the opposite sex with the lyrics reworked about Man’s Flu.

To really get your message across, the video can be personalised with the recipient’s photo, name and a message. It is even possible to have James Brown dedicate the song to the individual (by name) during the songs intro!
So ladies, stand up to your man, don’t take them lying down on the sofa…
Lemsip Max Lemon Flavour Tablets offer a dual format cold and flu remedy to suit whatever mood you’re in. The tablets can be taken on the go or added to hot water, dissolving to make a comforting hot lemon drink.

Roadkill Review Wishing You a Merry Roadkill Christmas

Well my disclaimer before I go any further, I adore furry British animals and the saddest thing to see is them dead on the side of roads, but I have a sense of humour so when I was tentatively asked to consider reviewing Roadkill Toys I did laugh when I read about them.

I knew Conor would find it hilarious he is at that wonderful age where the gross things in life are thrilling.
Chris too never has grown up.
Paige I thought would hate them but found them funny she kept as I did saying awww though!

These are the sort of prezzie any self respecting Goth would adore for their bedtime cuddly, they also make a shocking gift for the in laws. Go on how pleasing would it be to see your resident Mrs Bucket (Its pronounced Bouquet!) gasp.

The door wedge Pop Goes the Weasel produced howls of laughter here. Its got to be a talking point this Christmas if nothing else as poor Pop's eyes bulge. He comes in a little coffin and is quite dainty so not altogether horrifying.

He has an epitaph on the front of his resting place that says Herein lies Pop The Weasel
In Death May His Body Be of Some Use as a Door Wedge!
Awwww!

Roadkill Toys specialise in creating original toy characters with an unusual twist – they have all been run over...well not literally. Roadkill Toys like to call it “Squash Plush Couture”, so unlike real Roadkill, these remain soft, plush and retain their colours. Oh and they don’t smell.
There’s three Roadkill Toys in the Squash Plush Couture collection; Twitch the Racoon, Grind the Rabbit and Splodge the Hedgehog. All these not so cuddly collectibles come with a death certificate and in body bag packaging, all retailing at £25 each.

For those who like gifts of a more practical nature, Roadkill Toys would like to introduce Pop the Weasel. It’s a door wedge! Putting the fun into function, Roadkill Toys have captured Pop just as he pops his clogs. The weasel door wedge has its little paws splayed out in front. His googly eye pops out every time the door is jammed on top of his battered body. Pop the Weasel comes in his very own made-to-measure coffin with plastic peepholes on the lid. Inside is a death certificate witnessed and signed by a doctor, and a toe tag attached to his twitching paw giving details of his demise.

Pop the Weasel retails at £15.

The entire Roadkill Toys collection is available on www.roadkilltoys.com

Big Ben by T.P.A UK Discover the new video by Team Proof Association, featuring Big Ben

MANIFESTO

The fundamental problem with time is that it produces a lot of crap. We're not just another group of activists out there bulldozing our way through everything to get what we want. No. We are true believers in our cause. And we believe in everything that is durable.

The Time proof Association believes in beauty and the sense behind all things that stand the test of time. We are against fads and "here today gone tomorrow", banal, superficial fashions that take away our most precious possession; time.

1. We fight against time because Time destroys everything.

2. We refuse to be slaves to the monotonous tick-tock of time.

3. We will not use ephemeral elements whilst time continues to inexorably bring all things to an end.

4. We were not born to resist the passage of time; we were born to overcome it.

Therefore we invite you to join us and unite our forces together to combat this scourge called time.

Time proof yourself!
