LOGO on the GO - GO

LOGO on the GO-GO!
‘Official’ LOGO board game app

Ooh I so want to play this I am  hoping this appears for android really soon.

I love the Logo board game version. To play it on my phone will be so cool,I have already told all my iphone using friends, and I will get a go when they come round for a visit, they may find they don't get to talk to me too much!!!.

I know many people have entered to win a copy of the game on my blog in the past, so I imagine those among you who can will be downloading it soon.

Plus I will be adding a nice giveaway shortly for the newest game in the LOGO range.
LOGO Billionaire!!
This time you get to play business and see if you are a true high flyer or a losing businessman!

Following the huge success of the LOGO series of family picture board games, the in-house creative team at Drumond Park has now come up with a brilliant, free LOGO app!  Designed for the iPhone and the iPad, with further versions in the pipeline, it neatly and cleverly transfers – and enhances - the highly popular LOGO board game concept to the social media platform.  Now LOGO fans old and new can have their favourite brand of game fun at their fingertips, wherever they may be!

With unrivalled access to the logos of large numbers of much loved national UK brands and products, huge creativity and technical skill has gone into producing an entertaining, exciting app with superb, authentic graphics for the smoothest of super fun gaming.  It’s a mesmerising mix of hundreds of our favourite, everyday brands - Birds Eye, Hovis, Marmite, Tetley and Wagon Wheels to Argos, British Gas, Churchill, National Express, Tesco and Vauxhall – cleverly combined with some ingeniously tantalising gameplay.

The LOGO app is broken down into seven convenient, bite-sized question types – Reveal, Blur, Tilt, Grid, Shape, Trivia and Colour – and twelve increasingly challenging levels of play.  Each level contains 20 ‘questions’ which must be completed within a particular time, and once complete the next level is then unlocked.  Each level uses a mix of the question types, involving more than 1,100 questions with almost 300 images in total

.

As you work your way through each level of the games you can check progress on the levels screen, where successfully completed levels are highlighted in green alongside your best recorded time.  Incomplete levels are in red – and you can also go back and try already completed levels again to improve your scores, at any time.

The seven question types offer an exciting array of challenges with each round – and in every case, you type the answer from the letters appearing at the bottom of the screen before the timer runs out. For  Reveal (left), you rub the screen with a finger to gradually expose the image hidden beneath; you watch the screen with Blur as a well-known image slowly comes into focus; and in Tilt it’s a simple tilt of the screen to move the circle around - to reveal an image hidden beneath.

Grid (right) allows you to select a square from the grid to reveal part of an image.  Extra squares can be revealed, but there is a 10 second penalty for each.  With Shape you try to guess an image from just its outline before the timer runs out; Trivia allows you to select the correct answer from the multiple choices given; and finally, Colour presents you with a black and white image of a well-known logo or packaging, with part of the design flashing grey.  Here, you need to correctly identify the colour of the flashing part from the palette below.

The one and only ‘Official’ LOGO app from Drumond Park is an ingenious (and should we say ‘addictive’?) spin-off from the original LOGO board game series - a fresh and potent mix of exhilarating gameplay.  It provides fantastic, absorbing fun with enormous play value for gamers of all ages and abilities.  ‘The official LOGO board game app’, for both iPhone and iPad devices, is on the iTunes App Store list, completely FREE until 31st December 2013.

It is available to download from 1st October.

Drumond Park Mask 'n' Ask Giveaway

Win MASK ‘N’ ASK

The truly special, highly brilliant
NEW game of ‘Who am I?’

New Mask ‘n’ Ask from Drumond Park (rrp £16.99, age 7+, for 2-4 players) is an innovative and totally unique board game that will keep youngsters engaged and enthralled for hours and hours at a time! An ingenious twist on the sticky-note-on-the-forehead ‘Who am I?’ concept, this hugely entertaining game goes several giant steps further.

Inside the box, children will find thirty top quality double-sided masks with beautifully designed, colourful animal faces on one side, and jokey-looking human characters on the other.  That’s a total of sixty different masks to choose from amazing game play value!

The caricature faces on the masks are great, with loads of hilarious designs. On the animal side, for instance, kids might find a Badger, Crab, Elephant, Frog, Giraffe, Gorilla, Lion, Ostrich, Penguin, Pig or Sheep.

And on the human side, the mask may represent a Clown, Fireman, Nurse, Policeman, Princess, Sailor or Wizard… or Dracula, Little Red Riding Hood, Old Mother Hubbard or Queen Victoria.  Some masks are so endearing that you’ll find the kids are loathe to take them off – and will continue to wear them around the house once a game is over!  They love to see their parents wearing them, too – and can’t wait to get the grown-ups sucked into the action!

Twice the value!
The game board is also double-sided, so before they begin, the children decide whether they’re going to play the game as animal or human characters.

Each player chooses a pair of red, yellow, green or blue glasses, takes a mask without looking at the picture on the other side, and clips it onto their glasses.   Now the fun begins in earnest.  Each player has a turn at spinning the spinner – and then asks the other players the question printed on the board, on which his or her playing piece has landed.  For human characters, this might be “Do I wear a helmet in my job?”, “Do I have glasses?” or “Do I fly about a lot?”, and for animals it could be “Do I have stripes, spots or a pattern?”, “Do I live in the wild in Britain?” or “Do I have six or more legs?” and so on.

With just a little help… from your Tokens
Players are given a set of colour-matched double-sided ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ Answer Reminder Tokens.  When a player lands on a Question space, the pre-planned question makes life even simpler, allowing him or her to enjoy the game play without the stress of having to think up a series of questions themselves, in order to work out who they are. Once the question is answered by the others, the player places a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ token on the relevant space to help remember the answer. This strategy gives children the confidence to express themselves more clearly, and helps them learn to think things through. And if they’re not entirely sure of the answer, Drumond Park has thoughtfully provided a handy Correct Answer Chart - so there’s no room for uncertainty.

When a player correctly guesses his or her identity, they choose a new mask from the pile – and the first person to guess three masks correctly is the winner!

Simplicity itself…
Mask ‘n’ Ask has been specially designed by Drumond Park to be quick to learn and really fun for children. It is yet another example of why the company  remains firmly positioned as the UK’s leading independent games manufacturer.
Sure to be a sure fire winner for Christmas 2013, it is cleverly designed and superbly entertaining. So get set for many hours of traditional, good old-fashioned FUN for families everywhere – in true Drumond Park style.

HOLIDAY FUN - win LOGO What Am I? games

I can thoroughly recommend Logo to you, its a family favourite, I reviewed the game last year  http://given-to-distracting-others.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/logo-what-am-i-review-giveaway-ends.html  it comes out now for family and friend games night. Anybody can play, it causes great fun and we find the younger players know the TV so well they often beat the oldies hands down.

I am off for a break to Feather Down Farms soon, blissful as there is no internet ,phones, just luxury camping and hot tub, a furnished tent and lots of opportunities to play a board game. Logo will definitely be coming with us. Its just so much fun.

The makers Drumond Park have kindly offered Given To Distracting Others a nice treat, three copies of this fab game.

HOLIDAY FUN - win LOGO What Am I? games

Perfect for taking on holiday, LOGO What Am I? (rrp £24.99, age 8+) is a new multi-activity game the whole family can get stuck into.

It’s based on Drumond Park’s Number One best-selling LOGO picture board game, but even more varied! Each player has to either draw, describe or answer questions, so that the others can start guessing the names of well-known branded items or everyday products, before the 60-second timer expires.  Fruit Shoot, Rayban sunglasses, Rolex, the iPod, Toblerone, Raleigh bikes, Reebok and lots more lifestyle favourites make their appearance on the hundreds of cards which come with this clever and original game! It’s all the most fun imaginable - with some hilarious antics, especially watching Dad or Auntie struggling to articulate Smarties, Speedos, Strawberries, Sweetcorn or Sugar Puffs!

For children on their own, the game draws together many crucial aspects of communication and gamesmanship.  But although LOGO What Am I? is ‘officially’ for kids aged 8+, adults can join in too… so it’s great for playing with the whole family during those highly-valued evenings away.  Absolutely everyone will relate to the famous name products and brands – and want to join in the fun!

Win Pointless The Board Game

This year's best-seller is Pointless (age 10+ RRP £19.99) based on the hit BBC1 game-show hosted by Alexander Armstrong - the game where you have to fight your natural instincts and try to score the lowest number of points by guessing the least popular answers to general knowledge questions.

I reviewed the game last year and its still a favourite, I also love watching the TV show.
http://giventodistractingothers.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/pointless-board-game-review.html

I like that the winner is the one with the least points, so for instance, if the question is 'Name top 40 hits of the Beatles with two word titles,' maybe the first one you think of is Hey Jude or Penny Lane, while correct, they will also give you high points, less obscure answers such as Eleanor Rigby will give you low or no points.

If you have watched the show and enjoyed, or even just love a great board game, you might want to enter the giveaway as University Games have kindly offered Given To Distracting Others readers a chance   to win a copy of Pointless.

Stockists include; Argos, Toys ‘R’ Us, WH Smith, Amazon, Tesco.  Travel version (£9.99)

LOGO Best Of TV and Movies Giveaway Ends Dec 31st

Last month we played guessing games with Logo What Am I and one lucky reader scooped their own copy, you can read the review here http://given-to-distracting-others.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/logo-what-am-i-review-giveaway-ends.html

This month we are trying out Logo The Best of TV and Movies, this game has really appealed as we feel our family are certainly movie buffs and love our TV programmes. Its a similar board set up to the What Am I, but  this time its team games, we decided to have a male/female battle.  The cards are set into three categories, picture, theme and pot luck.

What causes a riot are the bonus cards, the Mute Button Card is a great one to play as it stops a player answering that round. Great to play on an expert in that theme. There is a Change the Channel card that can be used to swap topics.

Happy to say I won the game despite the Mute and Drumond Park are giving you a chance to win one too.

See the entry form below.
