Qsilica Skin Care range review

My skin certainly needs help, its summer, time when glowing summer skin is in reality dry and starting to need extra help.
I was sent the Qsilica REJUVENATE
Invigorating Body Lotion, I like the sleek black packaging, makes a change from white tubes or girly colours.

It has a really zesty sharp fragrance and is lovely to apply, its rich and creamy and not quick to absorb which in my mind is not a bad thing as you get to massage it in well. I think this adds to the invigorating benefit.
My skin felt smooth and supple after use, hydrated all day, though I,m sometimes a little greedy with good products and have been using it a couple of times a day.

Get Infused! - Discover the secret to your natural glow

The new Qsilica Skin Care range has, this month, been launched in the UK. Distributed by Planet Health International, this natural skin care range includes eight products that use potent natural nutrients – not synthetic cocktails. All the Qsilica Skin Care products  are infused with colloidal silica to visibly fight the signs of ageing and give that outer glow.

Silica, a mineral natural to sand and Quartz, is present in many vegetables and grains and is an important nutrient for the skin. Qsilica is a form of the mineral optimised for easy absorption. It provides antioxidants and vitamins, which, in turn, produce a natural glow in the skin, promote youthful radiance and maintain elasticity and suppleness.

Only potent natural nutrients and ingredients are used in the Qsilica Skin Care range.  Every product is free of chemicals, parabens, sulphates, petroleum and synthetic additives and none are tested on animals.

Fish Hairdressing Co for waves and curls

I love Fish hair products, I remember first seeing them and thinking the name was a bit odd for hair products. But I have since been won over as my hairdresser is forever recommending them and uses some of the range when doing my hair.

The latest products are to create height, waves and curls, now my hair is straight however once curled I can keep it in place for an evening with the Fishfixer, for those lucky enough to have curls the Curlyfish is ideal.

With over 20 years of salon expertise, the Fish styling team has bottled its trade secrets to create two exciting new essentials to tame tresses and leave us with heavenly hair no matter what our style, length or budget.
Summer 2011 has two big key trends:
Big, beautiful, natural hair like Jennifer Lopez and Tamed, glamorous curls
as worn by Rihanna.
Perfecting both styles can be tricky, especially when it comes to defining the look and fixing it all in place. The two new products from the Fish range have been created to help you achieve these keys styles in a simple no-fuss approach whilst keeping you looking bang on trend.

With new female styling from FISH HAIR DRESSING CO
This light hairspray will help you create big and bouncy yet natural looking hair.
How

BRITISH PARENTS CALL FOR TIGHTER LAWS OVER BUGGY SAFETY

BRITISH PARENTS CALL FOR TIGHTER LAWS OVER BUGGY SAFETY
Two in five parents believe that buggy wrist straps should be legal requirement in the UK

Inventor of pram safety strap ‘BuggyTug’, Di Mayze has been talking to parents to hear their views on buggy safety and whether a wrist strap should be made a legal requirement on all buggies and prams sold in the UK, as is the case in Australia. The resulting feedback from parents is loud and clear – they would definitely like to see more safety measures when it comes to the security of a child in a buggy or pram.

Of the 100 families surveyed, over 72% had either experienced themselves or knew someone that had experienced an incident of a pram starting to roll away after letting go for a split second. 74% said that their buggy or pram did not come with a safety wrist strap as standard, yet 77% said that they would feel more secure if their buggy had one. 47% believe a buggy should come equipped with a wrist strap and most tellingly, a further 40% even go as far as to say that it should be a legal requirement in the UK.

Di Mayze conducted this research following a horrifying incident in York a couple of weeks ago when three men had to jump into a the River Ouse to save a four month old baby after her pram rolled away and into the water, after her mum bent down momentarily to fasten her older child’s coat. The men heard the mother scream and rescued the baby, who was face down in the water and lifted her to safety before the unthinkable occurred. For the full story, see the York Press
http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/9153227.Heroes_tell_of_baby_rescue/

Di says, ‘There are stories such as this happening all over the world, and it seems that many parents, including myself, believe that in the UK it should be a legal requirement for buggies and prams to have a wrist strap connecting the carer and the pushchair, as is the case in Australia. Following the results of this survey, I think it is time to start a campaign, and I am now investigating the correct channels to get our voices heard’

Di explains how BuggyTug came into existence, ‘After I had my little boy, I saw horrifying footage of a buggy rolling under a train in Melbourne and immediately started looking around for a strap and could not believe that one didn’t already exist. Very few buggy manufacturers include one as standard, and those that do only offer a something that is transferable to most buggy and pram brands, and comfortable and flexible enough so those using it barely notice it’s there, so I invented BuggyTug. I’m thrilled with the result, and I know from the many positive reviews I receive that those who use it feel that extra bit more reassured that their child is safe!
It attaches (like a luggage tag) to any single handled pram and to the wrist of the carer ensuring two never become separated.
  • Comfortable
  • Easy to use
  • Made of neoprene so it’s super stretchy! Reaching into a changing bag or using the mobile is no problem at all!
  • RRP: £3.99
  • Stockists: www.buggytug.com; JoJo Maman Bebe; Amazon; Asda, Boots.com; John Lewis & Kiddicare

Accidents with a pram that could so easily be avoided occur all too often and in recent years there have even been two documented incidents where buggies have rolled under a train. CCTV confirms that all it took was a split second of separation for those involved to be faced with the unthinkable. On both occasions there was, thankfully, a happy ending, but it could so easily have been different.

Cherry Blossom Premium Range

Whether this is going to really show my age, but I grew up when shoe polishing was as much part of a Sunday tradition as was a Sunday roast. I used to do this with my Granny who we lived with for a lot of my childhood.
It was getting everything ready for school and having shiny shoes was a must!
I loved the fragrance of shoe polish, I used to be responsible for rubbing it in, we used Cherry Blossom then and the fragrance always makes me feel nostalgic for shared tasks with Granny.
I loved the little tins with the butterfly catch, always easy to flip the lid off, sometimes for little fingers a challenge to put back on.
Its nice to know its still being made and nice to learn that its still manufactured here in the UK.  Its bang up to date with some really great shoe cleaning products.

Among my favourites is  a very handy Cherry Blossom Universal Cleaner for all leathers, I loved this as it brought my leather bag and a few belts up to a nice sheen, its great on Chris's work shoes as these need a polish most days as he has to inspect sites that can be quite dusty.

The Renovating cream really helped rejuvenate my boots, I know its a bit early for winter shoes, but we have floods in Cambridgeshire at the moment and I'm preparing for any weather!

I just was thrilled that the little tins of Cherry Blossom shoe polish look the same and the polish inside evokes childhood for me with the same good fragrance.
Sadly the little butterfly is missing to ping off the lid. Happily though, it has a magical 'Press Here to Open' and the lid pings off giving as much satisfaction.
I was sent a history of the product and by now you know I like these features to make one think, learn a little history about a product or company so here it is.

A Brief History of Cherry Blossom
Your browser may not support display of this image.
Cherry Blossom were the first and now the only UK manufacturer of shoe polish. Started in 1906 by brothers Dan and Charles Mason, Cherry Blossom polish started from a need to use wasted tin plate left over from making their soap company containers.

Appreciating the growing demand for wax boot polish, the brothers realised that this discarded tin plate could be used to make small tins ideal for polish. They therefore employed a chemist to come up with the right formulation and launched in 1906.

The iconic “one penny tin” with its original “butterfly” twist opener was introduced in 1907 as was the name “Cherry Blossom Boot Polish”. In 1912 they sold off the soap company and concentrated on the manufacturing of polish. Padawax, a major step forward for convenience, was introduced in 1960. You could now apply polish with just the sponge and buff with a cloth. 1983 saw the “butterfly twist” tins replaced by the “snap open” variety and in 1986 New Meltonian and Cherry Blossom Shoe Care Plus was introduced – a liquid wax shoe cream designed for fast and easy application and fast shine.
Today the Cherry Blossom shoecare range is manufactured in Alfreton, Derbyshire, and as the materials used in the manufacturing of shoes have changed to include suede, nubuck, corduras and canvas as well as the traditional leather, so too have the products on offer from Cherry Blossom.

With years in the making the ‘Premium’ range from the oldest and most trusted shoe care company in Britain is one not to be missed: for keeping up appearances is something not to be trifled with. Cherry Blossom has been ‘making a good first impression since 1906’, they should know.
