Last night (Wednesday 7thDecember) Father Christmas made a surprise early pit stop at Loughton in Warrington, at the home of local family the Jacks. The special visit was organised by air freshener brand, Air Wick, to crown the Jacks the Most Festive Family in Britain. With special help from a group of carol singers and close family and friends including their nephews and nieces,Father Christmas delivered the Jacks their prize worth £6,000, on behalf of Air Wick.
Britain’s Most Festive Family are Lisa-Jayne Jacks, 35 and husband David, 36, who were selected by a judging panel from six finalists. The competition was launched by Air Wick in October to find those families that go that extra mile to make their Christmas full of festive fun. As winners, the Jacks will enjoy a festive experience worth£6,000 including £1,000 towards the Christmas shop, presents worth £1,600to share with their family. To start the festive experience Air Wick delivered a dusting of (fake) snow to their home, a Christmas tree, decorations and Father Christmas popped by and handed out gifts. There was also a special carol service with mulled wine and mince pies at their home for family, friends and neighbours.
To take part families were encouraged to tell Air Wick why they should win, using festive pictures and videos. The winning entry from the Jacks, AKA ’The Nugfesters’ included a short film in which they sung their own versions of the Christmas classics, against a festive backdrop, wearing festive jumpers. The Air Wick panel of judges were impressed with the Jacks dedication to make Christmas special for all their friends and family, and especially by their festive song writing skills! When asked why Christmas is so special to them, they said: 'Every year we go to my mother’s house with all our family and play old fashioned board games with the kids whilst feasting on a Christmas buffet! Time is precious and knowing that once a year we can be with our family is wonderful.Christmas unites everyone, the fun and laughter makes us remember how lucky we are and also creates new memories for all members of the family.’
On being announced the winner, Lisa-Jayne Jacks said: “We’ve always been a festive family, getting into the Christmas spirit every year so we’re ecstatic to have been selected as Britain’sMost Festive Family. Thanks to Air Wick, we’ll be able to give our family and friends a Christmas to remember.’ Amber Turner, the Jack’s Goddaughter added: ‘The day has been great, with this warm weather we have been having;I didn’t think I’d be seeing snow this year! Singing with Santa has been a treat too!’
