I have reviewed many of the Saclá sauces and as I have said before, its a store cupboard staple. Paige is mad on pesto and has it stirred through cold pasta for her packed lunch 2-3 times a week.
The risottos sauces are another favourite for the whole family.
Its hard to imagine meals and lunches getting any easier but Saclá have not only done that but surpassed expectations. They have brought out a range of fresh pesto, stir through sauces and most exciting to hear fresh pasta all fresh from the fields and sunshine of Italy.
The new range is in time to celebrate their 20th anniversary in the UK.
I was sent the Classic Basil Pesto and the Trophie pasta and last night it actually served Chris and I very well, we were out quite late, too tired to shop and very, very hungry.
I boiled up the kettele popped the pasta on to cook and poured a glass of wine and relaxed for a few moments. The cooker timer went off, then it was a case of snipping open the pesto and stirring through. The Trophie pasta was cooked perfectly and its wonderful shape meant the sauce held on to each piece and fast. No need to stir for ages and allow the sauce to become too cold.
A sprinkling of Parmesan and we were sitting eating a truly authentic tasting pasto and pasta dish. I have made fresh pesto once before and it was very tasty, this was better, the flavour of basil very intense, rich garlic, the cheese and pine nuts easily tasted too. It was wonderful, fresh and aromatic.
I felt I was eating a home cooked meal. I am very keen to try the rest of the range.
