Silly Bandz

Now this is definitely the new craze if my family's reaction are anything to go by. They are fun make you smile good to squabble over, but I see smaller children getting their wrists pinged if they get into tussles over them.

They retain their shape no matter how far you stretch them and how long you wear them. We put them through rigorous testing as Conor ever the sceptic didn't believe they would go back to the original shape.

These shaped rubber bracelets, called Silly Bandz, have turned their US inventor into a multi-millionaire.

And they are set to become a huge craze for both kids and fashion-conscious Brits this summer.

The colourful bits of silicone are already being worn by fashionistas including Sarah Jessica Parker and Agyness Deyn.

We were sent the Rock Bandz a great set with Guitar, mike, rock on phrase. These definitely appealed to the males in our family, including my 25 year old nephew, who visited to colour my hair and just off to style hair for the Ginger Group in the fashionable Brick Lane.

He grabbed one of each  rock style and added them to his wrist which sports his Ibiza wristband.

The girlier pack had a heart, sun shape, bone and girl as well as weirdly a dollar sign. The disappointment was the one everybody grabbed for, the heart, it was small on most wrists and a shame as this is the one Chris reached in to present to me...awww, but it just fitted and I have small wrists, con and Chris felt it was too tight.

Silly Bandz need a Valentine selection with a larger heart is my conclusion. Oops perhaps should not suggest this as

Sillybandzdirect.co.uk are due to launch the “Creativity for Kids” campaign that will allow schools to win Arts & Crafts equipment for their respective class by entering new designs of Silly Bandz. The winning designs will be immortalised into a new range of Silly Bandz in time for Christmas.

Great fun for all ages, think it will be teens and older primary school age that most get into them, I can see teachers confiscating them very quickly though.
