I have watched with amazement as Justine McLucas the instructor for the Pole Fitness swings around the pole. At first it looks unachievable as she is really so lithe, put together with the fact she is a trained ballet dancer and owns a pole dancing studio, I was dubious.
In Britain’s first pole dancing survey* 98% said they improved their upper body strength as a result of pole dancing. 90% said they toned their arms most and 60% said they toned their abs/stomach the most. 94% of people associate pole dancing with fitness and 99% would recommend it to friends, so if you’re stuck in a rut with your regular gym routine, trying a pole fitness workout could be the answer
However the warm ups which are with the pole just getting used to it and fun are easy to follow. Then Justine runs through how to use the pole, the moves as it were to get you ready for the workouts. Once you master these 20 moves, you are ready to put them together into routines for fitness. I for see this taking a little while and Justine does not promise that you instantly will be moving and lifting as she does but with hard work she states it is doable.
When I first saw the title a little of me did mumble "Lap dancing clubs oh no!", but when you see the DVD all notion that this is gyrating in an erotic manner goes. Its incredibly fluid, not dissimilar to gymnasts on the rings or on the beam.
