In February Carte Noire introduced something special for coffee lovers - the first Wholebean Instant to its range. I was keen to try it and Chris loving the wholebean instant style coffee was also keen. He regularly gets out the cafetiere or the Lavazza machine out on weekend mornings, but has to go for instant in the week as he is up at 5am and has a long journey to work, so everything is done with as much speed as possible.
Yesterday morning however, he had a lovely treat. The coffee comes in a canister there is also a pouch to refill as I opened it a lovely coffee house aroma filled my nose. I think for me the scent is as pleasing as the taste and the Instinct has a great rich aroma.

Carte Noire Instinct tastes like ground coffee. I found it smooth on the tongue which was curious as the taste is strong, it leaves a lovely aftertaste plus a satisfying trail of grounds in the cup at the end.
Chris loved it and went straight for a second cup.
I know that coffee connoisseurs may find the idea of instant not to their taste, but for us it was a lovely coffee moment and one we will be repeating often.
