The Works Hair and Beauty

I wanted to feature this absolutely fab hair and beauty salon. I was lucky enough to win a cut, colour, finish, facial and either manicure or pedicure.

As I recently had a friend ill, I never got round to making the appointment until the last week of the valid date, so just booked in for the hair appointment.

It is not far off the A14 opposite Bar Hill and is at first glance not your usual venue for a salon. Its on a small business unit park but looks professional from the outside.

Stepping inside, you would never believe the area, as its a haven of beauty, the salon is light airy and comfy chairs, magazines and beauty products are well presented.

The owner Bridget took charge of the cut and colour, she was realistic in my requests about style, what would work and what wouldn't, not in that pushy (think that ad with the Lionel Blair cut joke )hairdresser style you sometimes get. More she knows what works, what would suit and set about colouring my hair and it was fabulous.

I can hand on heart say I have the best colour on my hair ever, its looks sun kissed, natural, fresh and exactly what I had as my ideal colour. I've had so many compliments and asked who has done my hair.

The cut gave me more layers and has been in the few weeks that have  past been very easy to manage. Bridget chatted and entertained me. She is passionate about her business and it shows in her work.

While having my cup of tea and biscuits, I noticed the staff all seem really happy, and focused on their clients, none of the "Where are you going on your holidays this year?" but good interaction in a friendly way.

I am very keen to go back, I may even ask if I can review a couple more services, I would love to try the Body Action, I had just achieved my first week at Slimming World and at weigh in had lost 3 lbs that night with great heair and confidence, I have since lost 10 lbs, this workout in a machine sounds as good.

What's more the prices are amazingly good, as the salon has less overheads than a high street setting they can save but have generously passed this on to their clients.

If you are in the Cambridgeshire area I thoroughly recommend, I had to travel 30 miles and intend on doing so again.

Out in the Cambridgeshire  open six days a week including late night Thursday. The Works is the  place to come when you want everything done in one place. Hair and beauty needn't be a hassle - not when you have the ‘Works' done! Open late twice a week it's easy to find the time that suits you. With ample free parking why go anywhere else?
