Fudges Sweet Biscuit Selection Tin Review - Verdict MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Today I am reviewing Fudges, now how many people expect fudge?

Well I did and then found that its the surname of the family who make the gorgeous biscuits and treats. I would love to know how many times they get asked if they do make fudge and how often they want to scream though!!

Fudges was founded by Great, Great Granddad, Percy Fudge in 1926 and we have worked hard to preserve his legacy, adapting his award winning savoury and sweet biscuits, delicious luxury cakes and indulgent treats to suit today’s discerning tastes. It’s something that is done with a dedication and care that is rarely found. Each ingredient is handpicked for its quality and flavour and butter, eggs and cheese are sourced from local farmers that share our values. Values that embrace care and family.

Today, three generations down the line, Steve, Sue and Graham Fudge continue these traditions, embodying everything that the Fudges name represents and each adding something of their own character and flair to the baking process. Ovens are checked with anticipation, flour is brushed from skilled hands, and pride is evident at every step. From the hand dipping of our biscuits and flapjacks in the finest Belgian chocolate, to the exquisite layering of our unique cheese straws, it’s this pride that sets us apart.
And with all the awards we continue to receive each year, we know that Great, Great Granddad Fudge would be pleased too.

See that first prize award on the picture, well Fudges are still winning them.

At the Great Taste Awards 2010 they won 3 Gold star awards for our Cheddar Wafers, Hazelnut Biscuits and Goat Cheese and Seed Cheese Straws.

When I said before they were gorgeous its not quite the best word I can find for the tin of Fudges Sweet Biscuit Selection Tin, superb, delectable, heavenly. Well its a start.

Let me start with the tin, Its a lovely silver tin, with the Fudges logo imprint and a zesty orange trim. When I opened the lid, first thing I notice obviously are the individual trays of biscuits wrapped separately, now this is great for one keeping them fresher, maybe will halt the piggy in us from eating too many? Nope I don't think so! They look chunky fresh but I will get back to them.

What I do notice is the orange trim is carried on inside, the whole surface is a lovely orange, it reminds me of a Laboutin shoe and his signature red soles. It just seems Fudges have bothered about the whole experience of nibbling their luxury treats. Right down to the sad finale of an empty tin, you still have that joy of a nice tin for storage.

Back to my full tin for a look and I need to choose carefully, the sleeve on the outside tells me there are six of the Fudges range inside, click on the highlighted title for more info.

Stem Ginger Biscuits Half Dipped in Belgian Dark Chocolate
Butter Biscuits  Half Dipped in Belgian Dark Chocolate
Hazelnut Biscuits Half Dipped in Belgian Milk Chocolate
Chocolate Chip Biscuits Half Dipped in Belgian Milk Chocolate

Lemon Zest Biscuits  Half Dipped in Belgian White Chocolate

Cranberry Biscuits Half Dipped in Belgian White Chocolate

I love the Cranberry Biscuits, they are crisp, creamy and light, full of large cranberry pieces so you get a full flavour. The white chocolate is sublime, delicate yet rich.
Now you already know of my passion for lemon, these are the best of the tin, zingy, a good strong lemon punch, teams up so well with the chocolate.
Butter Biscuits are buttery, sweet, light and the dark chocolate a real opposite and a good match.
Ginger biscuits not a favourite of mine are so good, spicy, good sweet flavour.
Chocolate Chip biscuits beat any I have ever tasted.
hazelnut variety Chris tried as I am not keen on the variety, he adored them, he said the crunch then softness of chocolate made them moreish and said he hopes to find these in his Christmas stocking.

Folks these biscuits are just so good, the Laboutin of biscuits and top of my Christmas biccy wish list too!
