Kent's Kichen Risotto Review

Kent’s Kitchen, a new online food company, which specialises in meal kits, ready to cook risottos and kitchen food essentials, has launched
very recently and you may remember I reviewed the meal kits.
If not its here Kent's Kitchen Review
and here is one of the meals I cooked.

A very tasty and very simple Madras

The products offer good food lovers a quick and easy way to make delicious meals without cutting corners on quality. The range includes a variety of popular international dishes including Thai Red Curry, Spicy Korma and Chow Mein.

Ken ts Kitchen very kindly sent me some of the risottos to try, its strange because I class myself as a good foodie cook yet shied away from risottos, then Paige and Conor made one each for their DT aged 12 and I was hooked and they just are so simple to make, a glass of wine for the pot, one for me and stir and relax!!
Kent's Kitchen make it a few steps easier by supplying all the ingredients apart from one or two basics, mostly butter and water.

I still get to relax and stir and I can even add a slug of wine to the pot and one for me!!!

Here's the gorgeous Bacon and Spinach variety its a lovely flavoursome dish. Now if you like making risotto and even you feel you have not the time to stand prepping and sweating onions etc first, you can just use one of these. Its as simple as melting butter, pouring in the contents and stirring to coat the risotto mix, then start to ladle in the required water and stirring. Then if you want as suggested  a spoon of mascarpone or my suggestion Philadelphia cheese added at the end.
I would like to see these sold in larger pots eventually for a family risotto, untill then I will double up. At 2.40 a pot I thought they are fab value as you only add a knob of butter and water if needed. The real value though for me was the flavoursome dish with little fuss or having to think too much.

Alex Gardener, Co-Founder, Kent’s Kitchen said: “The modern foodie no longer has the time to prepare home cooked meals from scratch, but we know this shouldn’t mean lack of taste or quality. The Kent’s Kitchen range provides something for everyone - from the busy worker to the first time cook.”

These shortcuts to culinary magic are also natural and healthy, made with no artificial additives, flavours or colourings; Kent’s Kitchen products are a wonderful mix of oils, herbs, spices and authentic, natural ingredients.

As well as meal kits and risottos, which are the cornerstone of the company, Kent’s Kitchen has also launched a range of marinades, stocks, gravies, salts, peppers, herbs and spices, seasonings and rubs to add the essential ingredients to any homemade dish.
