For One Range from Loyd Grossman

Loyd Grossman Inspires Delicious Dining For One With His New Sauce Range

More and more of us have times when we are cooking for one, whether it’s lunch or a post work supper, and we seem to go for speed over taste. But now dining for one can be delicious and full of flavour, with the new For One range of sauces from Loyd Grossman.

Whether living alone, with a partner or with a family, hectic lifestyles or different tastes mean that most of us eat for one at least a few times a week. Inspired by those of us who are sometimes just too busy to eat together, Loyd has developed a range of six of his most popular Italian sauces, in a convenient pouch.

We are a family of four and mostly try to eat together, however Paige and Conor have  after school activities and a social calendar that now makes me look dull. So its not always convenient to eat at the same time or reheat a meal. The sauces came on just such a night.
Conor had a cinema trip on the Orange Wednesday, Paige had a Duke of Edinburgh meeting.

So out came the selection.

The new range includes six Italian classics:

Tomato and Chilli - Chopped red chillies make this a classic hot and spicy tomato sauce

Carbonara - A double cream and smooth mascarpone cheese infused with smoked pancetta

Tomato and Basil – With generous helpings of basil, garlic and extra virgin olive oil

Puttanesca – One of Loyd’s favourites in which juicy tomatoes are given a savory kick with black olives and anchovies

Tomato and Smoky Bacon - A punchy tomato sauce with bacon and tomato spiked with chilli

Tomato and Roasted Garlic - A subtly sweet tomato sauce enriched with roasted garlic

Paige opted  for the Carbonara, Conor for the Tomato and Basil, me silently thanking the pasta sauce gods as I would get the Tomato and Bacon. I make one myself so was interested to see what it was like.

They heat on the hob or for ease in the microwave just as they are in the pouch, just snip the edge and heat for 45 seconds...yes 45 seconds!!

The verdicts, Conor said "Well Nice, but could do with more!" He says that with all meals that he likes. Paige liked her Carbonara, said it was not as good as mine but tasty in a different way, more herby than mine. She added a huge grating of parmesan and said that it was extra yummo after!

The Tomato and Smoky bacon I found tasty, I liked the smokiness and it was not salty as I thought it may be, these are the sauces I love to add my own ingredients too, have done for years.
Chris says "Have you "Jo"ified it?"

I think brands have realised this and Loyd Grossman definitely has as accompanying the range are some gorgeous recipes which I shall add to another post.

Loyd Grossman comments: “I wanted to create a range that allows busy people a quick and simple way to enjoy their favourite Italian pasta meals even when just cooking for one. From the rich carbonara to the lively puttanesca, the new range brings together well balanced flavours and quality ingredients in a handy little pouch for those meal times when you’re cooking for one.”

Well I actually cooked for three last night and all separate dishes but you would never have guessed, I am normally moaning if I have to do different meals, its too time consuming.
It certainly is a range for busy families as well as dining alone.

Conor had another today as he is off to play footie, he made it himself and its so simple to make and satisfying too.

The new Loyd Grossman For One range is available from Tesco, ASDA, Sainsburys, Morrisons and all good convenience stores, RRP £1.29
