My fab daughter Paige runs Race for life in aid of her Grandad who died of prostrate cancer she aims to run every year, its such an amazing event seeing women all running and walking to fight against cancer. Thoroughly touching to see women who are having treatment for cancer walking and those that have beaten it.
Here she is at the end of the race as happy as when she started it she was so excited to have done it she chose to walk the 3 miles home still floating on air!!
This year I think she is dressing up as a pink fairy

WOMEN from across the UK are invited to ‘Join the girls’ and sign up to the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event series, as Tesco and Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life 2011 opens for entries in January.
Whatever age or fitness level, all women can walk, jog or run 5k at one of over 300 Race for Life events across the UK from May – July to help raise money for Cancer Research UK’s life saving work into all types of cancer.
Some of the women who take part in Race for Life are cancer survivors, while others walk, jog or run to celebrate or remember the lives of family, friends or loved ones. Others are there simply to do something positive to raise money for a great cause. This year, Cancer Research UK hopes that thousands more women will don their trainers and join friends, family and colleagues at Race for Life 2011.
Natasha Dickinson, Head of Race for Life said: “Race for Life is something that is emotional and precious to the women who take part as cancer touches the lives of so many people.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re seven or 70; if you want to take part alone or in a group; if you are really fit, or don’t like running at all. Race for Life is about all women, coming together, inspiring each other and united for one cause – raising money to beat cancer!”
Cancer Research UK hopes that Race for Life 2011 will be the biggest year yet and is aiming to smash the fantastic 690,000 participation and £60 million fundraising achievements of last year. 2011 is the tenth year that Tesco will have been supporting Race for Life and to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the partnership, Cancer Research UK and Tesco will be joining forces with a goal of raising £80 million to help fund the charity’s lifesaving research.
