If you have a passion for ice cream have you ever made it, I can assure you its pretty simple and the results are good as long as you follow some basics. I have turned many a punnet of fresh fruit into ice cream. Particularly great if you grow fruit or if you see a glut of fresh fruit on offer at the supermarket.
The book shown above is an ice cream bible and incredibly precise and vast in its recipes.
It is aimed at professionals also and some of the first chapters are dedicated to making ice cream for customers, there is advice on production, quality and hygiene, but do not be put off by this as it goes on to describe and advise on how to make ice cream at home but still following the essence of professional making.
Its wordy to start but once you do get into the recipes its a ice cream lover's paradise.
First you go from Vanilla Ice cream "considered to be the "gold" standard of ice cream, there is a collection of vanilla recipes. You are given a professional recipe then the Homemade version.
I spotted a favourite of my children's Cookie Dough, then drooled over Lemon Custard, Absolutely Nuts Ice Cream and Banana.
Next Gelato with delights such as Strawberry Cheesecake Gelato.
Followed on by Sorbets then Ices.
At the very end Ice Cream cake and desserts.
Over 200 recipes that demand to be made.
I would have loved to seen some more photographs, there are a few in the cake section but not nearly enough to feel my passion.
