Its a cold rainy day today yet I feel pampered, the lovely people at Douwe Egbert's asked me to try out the new Aromettes and sent lemon biscuits and a lovely little set to treat myself.
This will not affect my opinion but first impressions are good and it happens to be a favourite coffee so my expectation is high.
Firstly the name, they sound like a backing singer trio for a 60's star, would make a great ad campaign.
The format is very clever why has nobody done this before? The coffee is pressed into adorable coffee bean shapes and Douwe Egbert's have taken the guesswork out of making a good cup of coffee in a cafetiere as its one bean per person, you just pop it into the cafetiere and pour on hot water.
I tend not to drink ground coffee as I cannot be bothered with the faff, but love the flavour so usually enjoy mine at the weekend, but this is like making instant coffee.
Two strengths mean Chris can have his intense strong coffee and milder me gets a smooth medium flavour.
What is also good from this woman's point of view is the mess free fresh coffee, no spillage of powder all over the worktop that often gets left.
The Aromettes taste as I expect from Douwe Egbert's, good coffee made well, a good colour, depth of flavour , no aftertaste.
Aromettes was suitably launched for lovers of coffee on Valentine's day and come in two strengths -
Smooth (Strength 3) and Intense (Strength 5).
They are suitable for use in filter machines and cafetières.
This new creation by Douwe Egberts allows you to indulge in a fresh cup of coffee with a delicate and distinguished aroma.
After the coffee has been roasted, it is immediately pressed together in a compact Aromettes. The flavor and aroma are therefore perfectly preserved.
As soon as the Aromettes come in contact with hot water, this delicious aroma is released.
1 Aromettes equals 1 spoon of coffee.
