Mothers Day Wines

I love a glass of wine especially on a weekend or a special day and whoever discovered squishing grapes between their toes would produce such a pleasant tipple should have been sainted.
Talking of those who should be sainted don't forget that in one months time, (see I am giving you fair warning)  its Mothers Day and a bottle of wine is the perfect way to pamper your Mum or those you look on like a Mum especially if served with a meal you cooked..

These four wines are all perfect depending on your tastes and are also given with some meal ideas too. No excuses now!

May I recommend one of these if you like a dry crisp citrusy wine, the Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc has a light grapefruit taste and is a favourite of mine.
I was however sent the Banrock Station Sparkling Rose and I do approach rose with trepidation, I have had some far too sweet almost sickly and tend to stick to white. This however was a really pleasant tipple, light very refreshing the fizz made it taste dry and it was pleasantly sweet.

All mums deserve a treat, like relaxing with a glass of wine from our fabulous range whilst you prepare her one of our expertly* chosen complimentary dishes.

Fish Hoek Shiraz
This juicy red wine is a delicious addition to a number of meals. Try it with a hearty cottage pie, lasagne, or roast beef. Even better how about a delicious classic bistro Mother’s Day feast of steak, green beans and potato dauphinoise.

Banrock Station Sparkling Rose
This sparkling rose works perfectly as a standalone aperitif before a meal, or as an interesting desert choice. Best served with a light, red fruit desert such as pavlova or fruit tart.

Nobilo Regional Collection Sauvignon Blanc
The perfect wine to accompany a goats cheese starter or a seafood medley, or prawn cocktail. A great wine for a lighter lunch, perfect alongside a serving of red mullet, a delicious lemon chicken salad, or even a spring vegetable risotto.

Hardys Nottage Hill Cabernet Shiraz
As Spring is the Season, this Cabernet Shiraz works perfectly with lamb - either in a casserole or as chops with orzo pasta and roasted vegetables.
