Tracy Beaker Returns

Paige and I were excited when Tracy Beaker Returns was announced for a seventh series, it was always a favourite of ours.  We were sent the DVD, so spent last weekend with popcorn and hot chocolate watching back to back episodes.

We watched all the scrapes Tracy got into at the Dumping ground over the last six series and we were sad when Tracy left, happy for her character, that she got her family finally but wistful as the series were over.
Through the years we had avidly watched how her mouth and actions often got her into trouble and we loved the friendships formed, the staff.

We were not sure as we watched how Tracy as one of the care workers would work, but it was as eventful as ever. Tracy the one way do her job is to treat the kids as she would have wanted to be treated, trying to be fair.
However as we know adults cannot bend the rules and Tracy decides to do just that and finds she gets into as many scrapes.

Its as good as it ever was and the new kids are as lively and entertaining as when Tracy was giving out grief!
It has all the same charm as the first shows, Paige commented that Tracy seems as fun as ever but having to grow up and be responsible for others makes her more realistic now.

I’m Tracy Beaker and I’m Back!!

In this really cool new DVD, I’m back at the ‘Dumping Ground’ except this time I’m working there as an assistant care worker; how crazy is that?! As usual, things get really complicated, like when I get arrested…and that’s just the beginning! So you’ll see, with me back on the scene, there’s plenty more drama and fun times with Mike, Cam, Gina and all the gang!

Hey, and more amazing news - Tracy Beaker Returns was the winner of a British Academy Children’s Award for drama in 2010! We have also been shortlisted for Best Children’s Drama for The Royal Television Society and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed on March 15th when the winner is announced. Go girl – here’s hoping for a double whammy!
