RADCLIFFE’S REGIONAL CLASSICS Wine Review

The brand new wine range you can trust

I was thrilled to be sent a Radcliffe's Regional Classics Collection wine, as I do tend to stick to a few wines I know are good, I got to the BBC Good Food Shows each year and try to remember which ones I liked and ones to avoid when I get back to the supermarkets. But I mostly forget and go back to my tried and trusted.

Now I was sent a Chablis at the beginning of the weekend and I have to admit to feeling  a tiny bit disappointed, I never seem to find a French wine that I like to drink as a stand alone in the evening.
I love champagne and adore Pouilly Fume but I find most unpalatable.

But Radcliffe's aim is to match you with wines you can trust to be good.

I find this approach appealing as I do wander up and down the aisles looking for a new wine, then decide to stick with what I know.
I cannot abide another bottle that ends up in a casserole as it was too dear to pour down the sink but I do not like the taste.

I do admit to having such a busy and stressed out week, I wanted to settle down and drink wine I knew for certain I would enjoy so out came my favourite  Chilean Sauvignon Blanc just in case.

So yesterday as I was eating chicken and  doing a casserole for midweek, so that the Chablis could end up in if it was not so good.
The Radcliffe site says best "Served lightly chilled as an aperitif, with seafood, poultry or mild soft cheeses"   I thought it would be a good moment to try the Chablis.

I only wished I had not waited so long. It was absolutely gorgeous, it has  the citrus notes I love in a wine, though not as grapefruit tasting  as a Suavignon Blanc. Its more lemon I believe. Lovely crisp and light. Its so easy to drink with food and alone.
I am very happy as I have a new favourite to quaff at weekends.
I am keen to try their other recommendations also now and I can safely say i do trust their recommendation.
